Humanitarian Services To Children

Ongoing & Current Projects

humanitarian aidICF humanitarian aid program for orphans is one of the most compelling facets of our mission. We are committed to providing humanitarian aid through nutritional and medical supplies.

Our ongoing program is the Haiti Peanut Butter Campaign. In conjunction with Meds and Food for Kids, www.medsandfoodforkids.org, we purchase a therapeutic food called Medika Mamba, which means peanut butter medicine in the Haiti Creole language.

This program is in conjuction with Project Cure, who provides the medical euipment. ICF accept donations for the shipping costs, which exceed $17,000 – shipping at $15,000 and $2,500 to pass through the port.

ICF families and advocate for children make up the majority of our donors. We pledge that the money donated is used entirely for humanitarian aid; none is lost for administrative expenses, as our adoption programs coordinate logistics for the aid programs.

Dream Projects

Most adoptive families prefer to adopt infants or pre-school age children. Older children remain adrift in orphanage life, with little preparation for their futures.

The majority of young adults exiting orphanages end up in crime, prostitution, drug addiction or impoverished circumstances. The cycle then repeats itself: young adults without employment or life skills having babies they cannot shelter.

What are the solutions? Adoption is one solution. Adoptive families provide love, protection and education. Adoption allows children to develop social skills, be productive, to have voices, to belong, to have healthy marriages and become responsible parents.

For older children who are not placed with families, the key factor for their success as adults is education. ICF is working towards providing resources and training for older orphans, to get them on the positive side of the “digital divide.”

ICF plans to work in conjunction with other non-profits to develop programs and provide materials and trainers. Our volunteer Director for this program is Bruce Walker, MCSE, a leader in developing standards for technology education in public education.

Other Partners, Holiday Program

humanitarian aid farmersDuring the holidays, ICF selected Heifer International, www.heifer.org, as a partner in humanitarian aid. Our donations were used for a project to help rural farmers in East Africa that was matched by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, thanks to a 42.8 Million grant to Heifer International, www.heifer.org/site/c.edJRKQNiFiG/b.3842753/

Your donations are always welcome & needed

Many adoptive families wish to assist the children “left behind” in orphanages. Those families are able to bestow a significant legacy through donations to projects that ICF sponsors. ICF is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization and donations are tax deductible.

Our humanitarian programs aim for sustainability. Via our Haiti Peanut Butter Campaign, we employ an organization in Haiti to purchase their product. With our medical equipment project, the staff at the hospital in Tokmok will be able to help children for years to come. Our technology project will be designed to get children on their feet as productive and employable young adults, and stop the cycle of poverty. Our partners are chosen on the basis of their integrity and focus on “helping people help themselves.”

We welcome your help. Contact us today.
